The Vermont Center for Photography in Brattleboro will be hosting an exhibit featuring scenes from Paris by Robert Alter, a Vermont-based photographer, teacher, curator, and traveler. In his words, “Paris to me is shades of grey. Wandering around this city is a never-ending visual feast. The photographs describe a Paris not found in tourist guides or coffee table picture books. . . . This collection of images captures the uniqueness and richly dark character of Paris.”
Alter teaches photography in the Department of Art, Design and Art History at Framingham State University in Massachusetts. His photographs are in the collections of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris and the Danforth Museum of Framingham State.
The exhibit runs from April 4 until April 30, 2025, with an opening reception on Friday, April 4 from 5 to 8 p.m.
