Carole Salmon is an assistant professor of French studies and culture at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. In her research she has counted 17 Francophone newspapers in New England over a span of 120 years. She discusses the importance of this vibrant French press to French-Canadian immigrants in New England, especially focusing on Massachusetts and Rhode Island, She gave her talk on April 14, 2012, at Fletcher Free Library.
