Samuel de Champlain in Acadie
March 15 @ 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
From 1604 to 1607, Samuel de Champlain traveled through Acadie, first on the island of Sainte-Croix (Maine), then in Port-Royal (Nova Scotia). He explored and mapped the New England coast and developed relationships with indigenous communities. He lived his first North American winter there. His experience in French Acadie helped him greatly to found Québec a year later, in 1608.
